Ages 3 to 5: learning by playing

The youngest groups discover music and rhythm, work on balance and coordination and learn the first ballet positions through games and short stories. The aim at this age is that they love coming back.

Ages 6 to 8: the preparatory years

Classes become more structured. Students start working at the barre, learn the vocabulary of ballet and build the posture, strength and focus they will need at the next levels. From the age of 9 they move on to classical ballet by levels.

Other styles for children

  • Hip hop, from the age of 6, for girls and boys.
  • Contemporary dance, from the age of 7.
  • PBT, from the age of 7: strength and posture training for dancers.

Questions parents ask

My child does not speak Portuguese. Can she still join?

Children follow the teacher by watching and copying, and ballet vocabulary is French, the same in every country. Tell us about it when you get in touch and we will find the best group for her.

My daughter is 7 and has never danced. Can she start?

Yes. Groups are organised by age and the teacher adapts the exercises for beginners.

What should she wear to the trial class?

Comfortable clothes she can move in. The teacher will tell you afterwards what the class uses.
